Essentials
Jacket
Windproof, snowproof and warm. Fits with room for layers underneath
Salopettes
Windproof, snowproof warm and not too tight
Hat
You can be as mad as you like so have fun. It must cover your ears
and be tight enough to stay on while skiing. ALWAYS take it with you
Socks
Ideally at least 3 pairs. For the week. Only wear on pair of socks,
extra can lead to blisters.
Sun Cream and Lip Salve
It is very drying in the mountains and the UV is strong. ALWAYS have
IT with you and use often
EYE Protection
Must have UV400 lenses.

Gloves or Mitts
Windproof, snowproof and warm and with protective palm patch. Mitts
warmer. Boarders look for wrist support. WEAR AT ALL TIMES.
Layers
The secret of staying comfortable is to wear several thin layers rather
than one thick layer. Wear cotton or polyester, avoid wool and nylon.
Under salopettes wear leggings or long johns NOT track suit bottoms
Nice to Have
Apres SKI Boots:
Depends on resort and activities so check with staff. You will need
footwear with good grip
Face Mask:
Especially in N.America, high resorts and early season
Pass Holder:
Helps to keep pass safe. Generally not needed in USA
Ski Ties:
Keeps skis together or easier carrying and for identifying skis.
Boot Totes:
Makes carrying boots easier
Bum Bag / Small Rucksack:
Better than stuffing your pockets full
Handwarmers:
For the odd times when you just can't warm up

Clothing : Make sure you take the appropriate clothes and accessories. You will be able to
buy gear at the resort but remember it will be expensive.
